Seasoned Educator Seeks Tutors for All Ages, Subjects in Launch of New Business
EduMentor Seeks Skilled Tutors - and Students Who Need Help
“A strong educational foundation is crucial for everyone’s success,” says Joseph Siegel, a lifelong educator and the founder of EduMentor Tutoring Services, serving southeastern Massachusetts. “Sometimes kids need a little extra help in specific subject areas; sometimes they need a boost in self-esteem, communication skills or basic study habits. And we’re not just for kids. We help bridge the learning gap so students of any age can keep up and even excel.”
Siegel, who earned his B.A. in Education at the University of Rhode Island and his M. Ed. in Elementary Education from Bridgewater State University, was rated “one of the top 50 tutors in America” by a national on-line tutoring firm. For 20 years he taught several subjects in the Dartmouth, Mass., public schools where he also served as basketball coach.
Now, Siegel is expanding his EduMentor Tutoring business, an offshoot of the private tutoring he has provided over the years to hundreds of students. EduMentor offers tutoring for pre-K to adults of all ages, education levels and subjects including veterans. He is also recruiting tutors across the region to teach English as a Second Language as well as for SAT College prep, ISEE Prep, Special Education, Talented and Gifted, Graduate Equivalency Diplomas, and others.

“Our current focus is on recruiting well-educated, talented, enthusiastic individuals as independent contractors who can relate to our students, engage them, and inspire them to strive to succeed in school and in life,” Siegel smiles. Edumentor matches highly qualified tutors with students to enhance learning.
Among qualities he looks for when recruiting tutors: “They should know their subject matter inside-out. They should be able to put people at ease, have the ability to teach, and have a high degree of passion. The ideal tutor has patience, persistence and common sense. And they must have a positive attitude and know how to teach and to mentor students as a whole person to become lifelong learners.”

EduMentor is focusing on the cities of Brockton, New Bedford, Taunton and Fall River and all surrounding communities. Tutors are needed for day and evening sessions and should be available to teach at the student’s home or another convenient location.
Interested tutors, adult students and parents of school-age students can contact Joseph Siegel at (508) 641-1295, or via email at edututor@comcast.net. The website is www.EdumentorTutoring.org.
Siegel is also seeking partnerships through which EduMentor Tutoring may be able to offer scholarships.
