Shark Sighting Closes Head Of The Meadow Beach

TRURO, MA — A shark sighting at Head of the Meadow Beach closed swimming for a period this afternoon.

Sharktivity, the app which tracks shark activity on Cape Cod, reported the sighting, which closed the beach to swimming from 1 to 2 p.m.

According to the Boston Herald, it's the first shark-related beach closure of the season.

The app also reports recent potential shark sightings in Plymouth, where lifeguards reported a seal chasing fish with a possible fin behind it on Monday, and a confirmed white shark sighting at Nauset Beach on Sunday.

The shark at Nauset Beach was reportedly 10 to 12-feet in length.
