Shops, Galleries and Restaurants Offer Specials Over Nantucket Wine Festival Weekend

Annual FishPig Party at Slip 14, Old South Wharf – Friday, May 20, 4 - 11pm Slip 14, located on Old South Wharf on Nantucket, will be the venue for the Annual FishPig Party on Friday, May 20 from 4 - 11pm. FishPig is hosted each spring by Post 390 Restaurant, Harvest Restaurant and Wulf's Fish of Boston. This year, FishPig will also partner with Slip 14 of Nantucket where the party will be held on Old South Wharf. Tickets are $65 per person and can be purchased at https://fishpig2016.eventbrite.com. The evening will have a full cash bar featuring Cisco Brewers and Champy sparkling wine. From 4 - 5:30pm enjoy a Raw Bar with Nantucket Oysters, Lobster Rolls from Snappy Lobster and other light bites; 5:30 - 8:30pm will feature a one-of-a-kind buffet with whole roasted 90-pound pigs, whole roasted locally-caught fish, spit roasted wild boar, award-winning charcuterie and cheeses and seasonal sides and desserts. Live music from DJ Ryan Brown will keep the party rolling all evening. Additionally, neighboring Table No. 1 Wine & Cheese will be open from 4:00 – 9:00pm during the event offering two different wine tastings as well as a 15% discount to all FishPig attendees. The Club Car Flowers Vineyards Wine Dinner, Friday May 20 The Club Car, (www.theclubcar.com) will present a special Flowers Wine dinner. Featuring Maryland Crab Cake with Flowers Rose of Pinot Noir; Shrimp Scampi with Flowers Sonoma Coast Chardonnay; Roasted Almond & Walnut Crusted Swordfish with Flowers Camp Meeting Ridge Vineyard Chardonnay and Roasted Rack of Colorado Lamb pared with Flowers Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. Cheese plate dessert and Flowers Seaview Ridge Vineyard Pinot Noir. MET on Main, located at 38 Main Street will feature an array of specials during Wine Weekend including Taco Thursday ($6 for three tacos) and MET’s signature cocktails including El Corazon or Spicy Margaritas and Sparkling White Sangria. Over the weekend guests can also enjoy make your own Bloody Mary, choosing from a large selections of garnishes, spices & mix-ins. Sunday night is Chicken Supper for $16 per person. Served fried or roasted, each chicken dinner comes with a side of mashed potatoes, coleslaw and a buttermilk biscuit. Top it all off with one of MET’s special Sunday drinks, including the Not Your Father’s Root Beer ($6), Root Beer Float ($8) and Spiked Blueberry Lemonade ($10). Table No. 1 on Old South Wharf will offer a weekend of activities for Island visitors including Thursday: 5 - 7pm Chillin’ with Maurizio Consul General of Chile and his favorite Wines of Chile. Friday: 4 - 6pm Meet Winemaker: Olivier Humbrecht, Zind Humrecht Winery: Alsatian Wines and Alpine Cheeses. Friday: 6 - 8pm Meet Winemaker Pablo Nyrardy, Trifecta Winery, Napa Valley. Friday: Special hours open until 9pm to grab your last bottle of the night and enjoy it outside. Special Note - Table No. 1 Wine & Cheese will be offering a 15% discount to all FishPig attendees Friday. Follain will host a free (donation-based) "detox" yoga class at the store from 9 - 10am on Friday May 20. All proceeds go to Sustainable Nantucket. The shop’s 'Boston's Best' makeup artist, Jeannie Vincent, will hold complimentary 30 minute makeup appointments at the store on Friday May 20 and Saturday May 21, from 11 - 6pm, for anyone who wants to get their makeup done before Wine Festival events. Healthy treats will be complimentary throughout the weekend, celebrating the opening of Follain’s third summer on island. Cold Noses will hold a “WINE more Bark Less” raffle on two exclusive Island paw stemmed wine glasses. The free raffle will run from Wednesday, May 18 - Sunday, May 22. Starting Memorial Day weekend, the gallery will be open daily from 10am to 5pm; at the end of June the gallery will be open 10am to 8pm daily. G.S. Hill Gallery will be open daily over Wine Weekend from 10am - 5pm and Greg Hill, artist and gallery owner, will be present Saturday and Sunday to answer questions about his Corkscrew Art paintings. Retired Nantucket Lightship Basket weaver, Paul Willer’s collection of wine related baskets are also being featured. Nantucket Pearl Company is housed inside G.S. Hill Gallery and will feature “must have” Pearl Bracelets by Pam Freitus and Ice Bucket and Wine Coasters from Paul Willer’s private Lightship Basket Collection.
