Stop Signs, Lane Change Coming To South Street And High School Road

BARNSTABLE, MA — The Barnstable Department of Public Works is scheduled to install new stop signs on South Street at the intersection of High School Road, in Hyannis.

In addition, the DPW will convert the right-hand eastbound lane to right-turn-only traffic. The work is anticipated to be performed during the week of March 27, subject to favorable weather, officials said.

The project will create an all-way stop at the intersection of South Street and High School Road. It will also limit eastbound thru-traffic to a single lane.

The work will also involve adding advanced warning signs and pavement markings. These modifications are intended to improve traffic safety at this intersection, officials said.
