Strawberry Hill Road Project Continues In Barnstable: Detours, Closure

BARNSTABLE, MA — As construction work continues on Strawberry Hill Road this week, more closures and detours have been announced.

During the week of Dec. 19 through Dec. 23, "horizontal directional drilling will be used for pipe installation at the intersection of Route 28 and Strawberry Hill Road," Barnstable officials said.

Strawberry Hill Road from West Main Street to Route 28 and from Route 28 to Wequaquet Lane, will be closed as this work happens. Roadways will remain open to resident traffic only and businesses will remain open throughout construction.

Construction equipment will be mobilized daily, surrounding the intersection. Motorists should expect delays, officials said.

Formal road closures and posted detours will be in place, along with police details to assist in directing traffic.

Some areas with unfinished road conditions will require the use of steel plates.
