YARMOUTH, MA – A suspicious item left at a Cumberland Farms on Route 28 turned out to be a can opener, Yarmouth police said. An employee of the shop called police after she saw two men leave the store, place a black object under a rear shed and walk away, according to police.

The employee told police the men had been "acting suspicious" in the store.

The area was evacuated, and a state police explosive unit arrived as a precaution, police said. The device was determined to be a black metal can opener.
