News release from Town of Barnstable.

HYANNIS, MA — On February 5, 2024, a contractor for the Town of Barnstable Department of Public Works is scheduled to perform soil borings within the vicinity of the intersection of Main Street and Center Street/Old Colony Road, Hyannis. Work is anticipated to take two days, weather pending, and will require temporary lane closures. The intersection will remain open, with traffic control onsite to assist motorists with navigation around the work areas.

These efforts are in preparation for proposed traffic signal improvements at this intersection, with construction anticipated to commence this Fall 2024. As always, please slow down and use extreme caution when traveling through road work areas. Follow posted safety and detour signs as well as directions from police officers/flaggers.
