Trio Charged With Cocaine, Fentanyl Trafficking In Hyannis

Three Boston-area men will be held in jail for up to 120 days after police seized 28 grams of fentanyl and 19 grams of cocaine.

HYANNIS, MA — Three Boston-area men will remain in jail after a Main Street Hyannis arrest lead to drug trafficking charges, Barnstable police said.

Lee Harvey, 30, of Roslindale, Derric Tavares, 25, of Cambridge, and Cedrick Slayden, 27 of Dorchester, were all taken into custody in Hyannis for trafficking in fentanyl and cocaine on March 3, Barnstable police said.

Officers patrolling Main Street in Hyannis observed Harvey, Tavares and Slayden conducting what appeared to be hand-to-hand narcotic transactions from their car, according to police.

Officers pulled the car over after observing the transaction, finding 28 grams of fentanyl and 19 grams of cocaine, all of which appeared to be packaged for distribution, police said. Cash was also located during the stop.

The trio was held at the Barnstable Police Department and arraigned in Barnstable District Court on March 6. All three were ordered held for up to 120 days by the Barnstable District Court following a dangerousness hearing.
