Trump Draws Supporters, Protesters at Cape Cod Fundraisers
Donald Trump held two fundraisers on Cape Cod amid a free fall in the polls.
BARNSTABLE, MA — Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on Saturday appeared at the Barnstable home of billionaire businessman William Koch for a fundraiser. Koch lives in Oyster Harbors, a prestigious gated community in Osterville, where scores of supporters and protesters gathered.
Trump's Cape Cod visit came amid his free fall in national polls following his criticism of the parents of an Army captain killed in the Iraq War. Latest polling averages show Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton with a 7- to 10-point lead over Trump.
Earlier Saturday, Trump attended another fundraiser on Nantucket, according to the Boston Globe. Following the fundraisers, he posed for a photo with Massachusetts State Police troopers before heading to Windham, N.H., where he argued Clinton isn't fit to be president.
