Two Arrested on Ocean Street for Prostitution

The Barnstable Police Street Crimes Unit arrested two individuals accused of exchanging money for sexual conduct on Friday night.

Police arrested Dominique D. Brown, 27, of 80 Winter St., Apt. A, Hyannis for sexual conduct for a fee and Nelson E. Almeida, 33, of 46 Quanapoag, Freetown, MA for sexual conduct for a fee.

Police witnessed Brown, wearing a blonde wig, short shorts and high heels, walking up to cars and speaking with several men before approaching a male (Almeida) on the corner of Barnstable Road near Cape Mart. 

Police stated in the arrest report, "this is a known area for drugs and prostitution transactions." 

Almeida and Brown talked and walked toward a vehicle, exchanged an item and got into an "Interstate Battery" work van and drove away, the report stated.

Police followed the two until Ocean Street when they conducted a motor vehicle stop and questioned the people inside. The Almeida could not say how he knew Brown, but only knew her first name. 

After more questioning, police were able to determine that money was exchanged for a sexual act.
