Vehicular Homicide Charges for Cape Cod Driver in Fatal Crash

NORTON, MA — A Cape Cod man was charged with vehicular homicide in connection with a fatal crash in Norton Saturday night.

Keith Carew, 41, of Mashpee, was driving on Route 495 northbound Saturday at about 6 p.m. when police said he swerved into the southbound lane and struck a Toyota Yaris head-on.

The Yaris driver, Robert Roche, 55, of Sandwich, was killed. A passenger, a 48-year-old woman from Sandwich, suffered serious injuries, police said. She was transported to Rhode Island Hospital.

Carew was charged with motor vehicle homicide by reckless operation and a lane violation.
