Wellfleet Hit-And-Run Victim Dies, Investigation Ongoing
A Connecticut man was found bleeding from the head in what looks to be a hit-and-run. Police have now identified him as Jeffrey Richardson.
WELLFLEET, MA — A man found on Route 6 with severe head injuries on Monday night has died, Wellfleet police said.
Police have identified him as Jeffrey Richardson, 59, of Brookfield, Conn. He died on Tuesday.
The Wellfleet Police Department is still investigating the incident as a hit-and-run after they found Richardson around 9:41 p.m. lying unresponsive and bleeding from his head on the road. Police said he had "visible severe head injuries."

Officials said that CPR was performed at the scene, and the man was transported to Cape Cod Hospital. Officials tried to call for a Med Flight to Boston, but weather conditions made that option unavailable.
Wellfleet police and the Barnstable County Bureau of Criminal Investigations are seeking public assistance.
