UPDATE: Woman Found Dead at Barnstable Rest Area Identified
The woman is the apparent victim of a gunshot wound.
Police are investigating after a woman was found dead at the rest area on Route 6 Saturday morning, the Cape Cod Times reports.
She was identified as Christine Ferreira, 28, of Hyannis.
Authorities responded to the scene around 4 a.m. The woman died of multiple stabbing injuries and gunshot wounds.

The rest area was closed to traffic while police investigated and has since reopened. State police are investigating the case.
