Woman Had $7K Worth of Illegal Fireworks in Hyannis: Police

A 24-year-old Marstons Mills woman allegedly purchased the fireworks in New Hampshire and transported them to Cape Cod.

A woman was charged with having a huge cache of illegal fireworks in Hyannis, police said.

Kayla Majors, 24, of Marstons Mills, was charged Friday after police said she purchased over $7,000 worth of fireworks in New Hampshire and transported them to Cape Cod in a rented van. New Hampshire authorities contacted their counterparts in Cape Cod that day, saying Majors had just made a large purchase. Massachusetts State Police then stopped the van on Route 6 between Exits 4 and 5 and charged Majors. A friend, 24, of Hyannis, was also in the vehicle. She was not charged.

Fireworks are illegal for citizen use in Massachusetts.
