Woman Hit By Car In Hit-And-Run Crash In Hyannis

Police arrested a 19-year-old Hyannis man accused of striking a woman in a hit-and-run crash.

BARNSTABLE, MA — A 47-year-old Hyannis woman suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car in a hit-and-run crash, according to police. Around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, emergency crews were called to the intersection of Main Street and Pine Avenue when the woman was found lying in the road

Police said the driver, Kauan De Oliveira, 19, of Hyannis, hit the woman with his silver sedan before driving away down Pine Avenue. Officers found Oliveira in a nearby neighborhood shortly after responding to the crash.

The woman was taken to Cape Cod Hospital with injuries to her ankle, hip, back and head that did not appear to be life-threatening.
