Worker Pinned Under Marble Slab In Hyannis Dies

HYANNIS, MA — An employee died following an industrial accident at a Hyannis business Tuesday. The man was helping move a marble slab at Quarry Industries when in fell and pinned him underneath, according to the Cape Cod Times.

The employee, 49-year-old Elvis De Almeida Ribeiro, was later pronounced dead at Cape Cod Hospital. Ribeiro worked for the company for about two months, police told the Times.

The cause of the accident is under investigation. Quarry Industries, located on Corporation Street, is a fabricator and stone supplier.
