Yarmouth PD Building Training Complex In Memory Of Sean Gannon
The center is expected to have a training simulator, a mock house for SWAT training, a shooting range and an obstacle course.

YARMOUTH, MA – The Yarmouth Police Department is building a training complex in memory of fallen K-9 officer Sgt. Sean Gannon. The center will be located at Yarmouth police headquarters and will be the first of its kind of on the Cape, according to the department.
The complex is expected to have interactive simulation technology for patrol officers, an on-site mock house for K-9, officer and SWAT training, an obstacle training course and a live-round training range by the time it is finished.
It will be dedicated to Gannon, an eight-year veteran of the department who was shot and killed April 12, 2018. He was posthumously promoted to sergeant.

The complex will be built in four phases, according to the Yarmouth Police Department:
Phase One
Milo Range Simulator $70,000

The interactive simulator has been acquired and installed in the basement of Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters. Ribbon Cutting Ceremony is open to the public and will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at 2PM.
Phase Two
Training Building $300,000
Plans are being developed to construct a mock house to provide K9, Police, and SWAT Officer realistic training.
Phase Three
Obstacle Course $40,000
Plans are in progress to construct a K9 and Police Officer Obstacle Course and Training areas which relate to duties and tasks performed.
Phase Four
Enclosed Live Fire Range $700,000
A request to purchase a state-of-the-art fully enclosed live fire training range for tactical and qualification training in a complete self-contained sound proof container has been made to the town of Yarmouth Capital Budget Committee.
