No Surprise Here: Boston is Heavily Democratic

But how does Boston compare to its neighbors?

We looked at more current voter registration numbers compiled by the Massachusetts Secretary of State in February of this year, just before the March 6 presidential primaries.

Boston remained an extrememly un-Republican place, with 6.7 percent of voters registered with the GOP, considerably lower than the statewide average of 11.35 percent.

About 37.4 percent of Boston voters are unenrolled. In Massachusetts as a whole, these unenrolled voters represent the largest chunk, comprising 52.2 percent of voters.
