Middlesex Community College works with students to plan for the future and get on track to reach their goals. To help students choose their program of study, Middlesex will host a series of Pathway and Major Exploration events throughout the Fall 2026 semester.

"At the Major and Pathway Exploration event, students in pathways – exploratory programs prior to major selection – can explore major options that support their goals with advisors and their peers," said Yohanka Tejada, MCC's Interim Assistant Dean of Advising and Pathways. "The goal is to help students declare a major soon. This event will allow them to learn more about different available majors and work with advisors and their peers to explore major options that align with their career goals and interests."

Students who have not yet decided their major will have the opportunity to explore MCC's program options within their pathway. This allows them to match their interests and goals to a major and future career path. The event is for students pursuing the arts, humanities and communication; business; education; public service; social science; and STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics).

During the event, students can connect with classmates who share similar paths, as well as work with advisors to learn how to declare their program of study. Choosing a program of study guides students as they transfer to four-year schools or enter the workforce.

A Zoom event will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 24. The Bedford Enrollment Center will host an event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29 in the advising office in room 113. In the Lowell Cowan Center Cafeteria, the event will take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, October 8.
