Bedford Free Flu Clinic: What You Need To Know

The town wide clinic is slated for Saturday, Oct. 14.

BEDFORD, MA – Bedford's town wide flu clinic is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 14 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the John Glenn Middle School cafeteria. According to the Bedford Board of Health, it is estimated that up to 2,800 people in Bedford could get the flu this season.

The flu is contagious and can be spread by coughing, sneezing and close contact. Symptoms include fever or chills, cough, headache, sore throat, muscle aches, fatigue and a runny or stuffy nose. Risk is highest among children, who are susceptible to worse symptoms along with people 65 and older, pregnant women and people with certain health conditions, the Board of Health said.

The town wide flu clinic is available to residents ages six months and older. It is free of charge; however, the Bedford Board of Health will seek reimbursement from medical insurance companies for the dose and administration of the shot. As such, it is important that residents bring their insurance cards to the clinic.
