Both Bedford High boys and girls tennis teams will play today in hopes of getting to the MIAA North Division 3 finals. Bedford boys tennis will take on Hamilton-Wenham at 3:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, June 5 at Hamilton-Wenham in the boys semifinal game. The girls will play Manchester Essex at 3:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, June 5 at Memorial Elementary School in Manchester in a girls semifinal face off. On Monday, the boys pulled off a giant upset of number one seed Manchester Essex, which went into the match with a perfect 16-0 regular season record. Bedford won 4-1 over their Cape Ann foes. The eighth-seed Buccaneers next takes on the fourth-seed Generals, which finished the regular season as 10-3. The Bedford girls, meanwhile, head into the semifinal after knocking off 12th seeded Ipswich 5-0 on Monday. They will play number one seed and undefeated Manchester Essex, which will look to get revenge after the boys lose on Monday. The Bedford girls have the fourth seed in the tournament.
