Bedford Looking To Fill School Committee Vacancy

The Bedford Select Board and the Bedford School Committee are seeking applicants for an interim appointment to fill a vacant seat.

BEDFORD, MA — The Bedford Select Board and the Bedford School Committee are looking for applicants for an interim appointment to fill a vacant seat on the Bedford School Committee after a recent resignation. The School Committee has five elected members.

The appointment for this seat will run through Mar. 14, 2020, when an election for the remaining years of the vacated term will be conducted. The interim member may choose to run for election on Mar. 14, 2020 or resign.

Any registered voters interested in volunteering for appointment to this position can apply by submitting a Volunteer Questionnaire to the Town Manager’s Office or by e-mail to sstanton@bedfordma.gov. The questionnaire is available at Town Hall, or online at www.bedfordma.gov in the Forms and Documents section under “Volunteer Coordinating Committee.”

The deadline for submitting a questionnaire to be considered for the position is Nov. 18, 2019.

A joint meeting of the Bedford Select Board and the Bedford School Committee will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 26, 2019 in the Large Group Instruction Room at Bedford High School, 9 Mudge Way, Bedford to appoint the position.

Registered voters interested in volunteering are encouraged to attend the upcoming School Committee meeting scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 12 in the Bedford High School Large Group Instruction Room and are invited to contact members of the School Committee with questions.
