Bedford Man Honored As 'Hero Among Us' For Work With Veterans

BEDFORD, MA — Bedford's Will Hatley was the latest person honored as a "Hero Among Us" by the Boston Celtics. Hatley is a U.S. Navy veteran and works with other veterans in Bedford as a Vocational Rehabilitation specialist.

Hatley was brought to the center of the court at Saturday's Celtics game against the New Orleans Pelicans. He was recognized for "his willingness to assist those who have served our country."

As a Vocational Rehabilitation specialist, Will helps veterans with challenging barriers to maintaining employment. Will overcame his struggles with PTSD and homelessness and is wholeheartedly committed to helping other veterans who struggle as he once did, working to “catch them when they fall.”

Since its establishment in 1997 by the Boston Celtics, The Heroes Among Us program has recognized outstanding individuals who have made exceptional and lasting contributions to their communities. The award is presented at every Celtics home game and pays tribute to the heroic achievements of these outstanding citizens.
