Bedford Police Join No Shave November

Police officers will be allowed to grow out their scruff for a good cause throughout the month.

BEDFORD, MA — Bedford police are ditching their razors for a month in honor of a good cause. The department is joining the No Shave November movement and allowing officers to grow out their scruff.

While the hashtag No Shave November tends to go viral every year, police departments have extra fun with the trend since it's the one time officers are allowed to grow out their facial hair. The viral trend is also a way for departments to shed light on community organizations and help them raise money.

Throughout November, the department will be raising money and awareness for Home Base, an organization that provides to Veterans and their Families tools to heal from the invisible wounds, such as post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injury.
