Bedford Police Log: A Speeding BMW and a Suspicious Door Bell Ringer

The following information was provided by the Bedford Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Sept. 30

At 1:43 p.m., police responded to a two-vehicle accident on Great Road. One person was taken to an area hospital and both vehicles were towed.

At 2:44 p.m., a library employee dropped off lost and found property to police.

At 5:01 p.m., police issued a bylaw violation citation for a Lido Lane resident whose dogs were barking and running around.

At 11:31 p.m., a Beverly Road reported a driver in a pickup truck drove over her lawn and fled the area. Police found there was no damage to the lawn.

Tuesday, Oct. 1

At 5:06 p.m., police received calls for a car accident on Great Road. One person was taken to Lahey Clinic.

At 6:14 p.m., a Birchwood Drive resident called police after a suspicious man rang her bell, but he wouldn’t identify himself. Police responded, but the man left the area. He is described as a white male, 5 feet, 5 inches tall, who was wearing a suit and driving a black SUV.

At 8:26 p.m., a Coachmen Lane resident reported a suspicious man looked into a mailbox and at a garage door with a flashlight. The man left the area before police arrived. 

Wednesday, Oct. 2

At 8:55 a.m., police responded to Woodland Road after a report of a white BMW speeding and nearly hitting a school bus and school children waiting for the bus. The driver left the area before police arrived.

Thursday, Oct. 3

At midnight, police received a report of a possibly intoxicated man in a car on Burlington Road. Police spoke to the man, who was not intoxicated, but was sleeping in his car. A family member picked him up and took him home.
