Bedford Police Log: Odd Activity Reported Outside John Glenn Middle School

The following information was provided by the Bedford Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Sept. 23

At 10:54 a.m., an Avalon Drive resident reported a hit-and-run accident. Police took a report.

At 5:43 p.m., a jogger reported finding a wallet on Middlesex Turnpike.

At 7:21 p.m., police and fire responded to Roberts Drive concerning an outside fire. It was actually a small campfire. Firefighters extinguished the fire.

Tuesday, Sept. 24

At 9:26 a.m., police and fire responded to Springs Road concerning illegal burning. The owner extinguished the fire.

At 8:15 p.m., police received a call from Emerson Hospital about a Bedford resident who just left the hospital and who have been under the influence. Police researched the area near the person’s house, but did not find the vehicle.

Wednesday, Sept. 25

At 7:39 a.m., a bus driver responded that a student was approached by a man in a blue convertible and asked her if she wanted a ride on Davis Road. Police spoke to the girl.

At 9:26 a.m., police responded to John Glenn Middle School concerning a woman carrying a baby doll and knocking on windows. Police responded, but could not find the woman.

At 2:39 p.m., a Winterberry Way resident reported a sick or injured groundhog. The animal scurried away when police arrived.

At 3:26 p.m., an Abbott Lane resident called police after finding a backpack on her front porch. Police found the backpack contained shin guards and soccer cleats, but there was no identification in the backpack.

At 5:46 p.m., an Old Billerica Road resident reported a loose small white dog. Police responded, but the dog had already left the area.

Thursday, Sept. 26

At 2:05 p.m., a Dudley Road resident reported finding a dog named Bailey. The dog’s tag had a Cambridge address. The Bedford resident called the Cambridge resident who picked up the dog.

At 3:15 p.m., a Hayden Lane resident reported seeing a wolf in the area. Police responded, but didn’t find the animal.
