Begin a Career as a Nursing Assistant at Middlesex Community College

Middlesex Community College’s Nursing Assistant Certificate Program helps prepare students for entry-level employment as a nursing assistants or home-health aides. Classes begin Monday, Jan. 23, 2017 and it’s not too late to register.
The Nursing Assistant Certificate Program is part of MCC’s Academy of Health Professions, which provides entry-level training opportunities for students interested in pursuing a career in health care. The program combines classroom and laboratory instruction with long-term care experiences. Students are prepared to perform entry-level technical skills of bedside care, including safety and infection control, as well as therapeutic and restorative procedures. In addition, students can obtain CPR and first-aid certifications.
This program fulfills Massachusetts Department of Public Health requirements. Students who complete the program are eligible to take the Massachusetts state certification examination. Graduates may find career opportunities working as a certified nursing assistant in long-term care facilities, hospitals and clinics, or in individual residential or patient homes.

Upon completion of this certificate, students will be able to move up the career ladder by taking additional college-level courses and meeting requirements to earn other certificates or associate degrees in a health career program.
