Boston-based Grain Thief brings its distinctive roots sound to the New Song Music Series on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 7:30 p.m.
With critically acclaimed albums and live performances that have earned them a national following, this five-piece string band explores the boundaries of Americana while staying grounded in its acoustic roots. Their latest album, House of the Dog, celebrates perseverance, friendship, and the simple power of acoustic instruments gathered around a microphone. Its original tunes feel warmly familiar—as comfortable as a favorite pair of jeans.
Patrick Mulroy (guitar, vocals), Zach Meyer (mandolin, vocals), Michael Harmon (bass, vocals), Tom Farrell (resonator guitar), and Alex Barstow (fiddle) have honed their songwriting and musicianship through years of playing together, building a musical camaraderie that shines through onstage.
