Car Crashes Into Bedford Elementary School Bus

There were 13 elementary school students in the bus.

BEDFORD, MA — A car crashed into a Bedford school bus on Monday afternoon. The front end of the car was wedged under the back end of the school bus. The bus was carrying 13 elementary school students — police said none of the kids had serious injuries.

The crash happened on Macintosh Road just before 4 p.m. In total, 14 people were on the bus, including the driver. According to police, two students were evaluated for injuries that are not believed to be serious — no one from the bus was taken to the hospital but the driver of the car was taken to the hospital. Police said his injuries are not life-threatening.

All parents were notified of the crash by the Bedford Public Schools and arrangements were made for parents to pick up their children at the scene of the crash.

Police said the driver of the car will likely be cited for several motor vehicle violations, but the crash is still under investigation.
