Car Drives Into Bedford Building: Police

Emergency crews responded to Loomis Street on Wednesday after a woman drove her car into the side of a building.

BEDFORD, MA – An 83-year-old Bedford woman was injured Wednesday when she drove her car into the side of a building, police said. Officers responded to the unit block of Loomis Street around 9 a.m. for a report of a car crashing into a building.

Upon arrival, first responders found a 2003 Toyota Camry in the side of a multi-unit office building. Firefighters began administering first aid to the driver and ultimately transferred her to Lahey Hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

A threat notification was issued on the driver. The building was evacuated and an inspector examined the structural damage. Out of precaution, temporary supports were installed on the first floor.

The Camry was towed from the area once the structure was deemed safe.

No other injuries were reported. The crash remains under investigation.
