International Guitarist to Perform for MCC

The next recording of MCC's "A World of Music" concert series is by guitarist Jérôme Mouffe online at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 30

Although the college has transitioned many courses, student services and events to online platforms for the Fall semester, Middlesex Community College believes offering community-building events is essential during these challenging times. The next live recording of MCC’s “A World of Music” concert series is by guitarist Jérôme Mouffe. The concert will air online at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 30.

In his performance, the Belgian guitarist will explore the reciprocal influences between music from the new and old continents. The program intends to show how forms, genres and musicians travel thousands of miles to shape masterpieces of the guitar repertoire and includes Agustin Barrios’ Mazurka and Antonio Lauro’s Waltzes, among other works.

The series debuted with a performance by Carmen Rodriguez-Peralta, MCC’s Chair of Music, on the piano and followed up with a concert by members of the Lowell Chamber Orchestra, along with MCC faculty members entitled “Lowell Threads.”
