Middlesex Community College’s Community Education and Career Training Division will host a consumer-protection discussion with Assistant Attorney General Bill O’Hearn, Deputy Chief of the state’s Consumer Advocacy & Response Division, at 10 a.m. Monday, April 8, in the Bedford Campus Center’s Café East, 591 Springs Road. The event is free and open to the public.

O’Hearn will outline how his office advocates on behalf of the state’s consumers. He will cover topics such as phone scams, “robocalling” and telemarketing, the Dark Web, and protecting your credit. After the formal presentation, O’Hearn will take questions from the audience.

The Massachusetts Consumer Advocacy & Response Division receives and reviews complaints, advocates on behalf of Massachusetts consumers, and implements settlements entered into by the Attorney General's Office in various areas relating to the office's consumer-protection efforts. These efforts include debt collection, mortgage lending and servicing, housing, automobile sales and lending, and data privacy and security.
