MA Police Partner With Humane Society For Animal Abuse Training

Training sessions will take place next week in Bedford and New Bedford.

BEDFORD, MA – Law enforcement in Bedford and New Bedford is partnering with the Humane Society to hold free training sessions next week on investigating animal abuse cases. The training is open to police, animal control, veterinarians and prosecutors and is approved by the Mass Animal Fund for 7 CE credit hours.

Topics covered:

  • Background on animal fighting and illegal animal abuse in MA, including relevantlaws
  • Link between animal abuse and other violent crimes
  • Investigating cruelty and fighting complaints, from first response to filing charges
  • Recognizing key evidence, warrants, statements
