MCC Art & Music Faculty Collaborate for Exhibition & Concert
FREE Art Faculty Exhibit and Accompanying Music Faculty Concert to be held March 15 at 6:30 p.m. (exhibit opening) and 8 p.m. (concert)

A World of Music, Middlesex Community College’s 2019 spring concert series, begins with “Reflections: Art and Music,” an Art Department Faculty Exhibit and accompanying Music Department Faculty Concert, to be held at 6:30 p.m. (exhibit opening) and 8 p.m. (concert) Friday, March 15, in the Donahue Family Academic Arts Center (AAC), 240 Central St., on the Lowell campus. Both events are free and open to the public.
The Faculty Art Exhibit opens at 6:30 p.m. in the AAC lobby and will feature sculpture, paintings, ceramics, stained glass, photography, collage and works on paper by Angela Alés, Bill Bradbury, Jeanne Cronin, Joe Eiler, Meredith Fife-Day, Mary Hart, George Herman, Tamara Krendel, Yary Livan, Roneld Lores, Margaret Rack and Carolyn Stock. The exhibit will be on view through April 18.
The Music Faculty Concert begins at 8 p.m. in the AAC Recital Hall and will feature works that reflect the cultures, images and emotions of the artwork in the exhibition. Faculty members Orlando Cela, flute; Carmen Rodríguez-Peralta, piano; and Anna Ward, soprano; will be joined by David Clark, composer/double bass; and Steve Hunt, piano. Works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Olivier Messiaen, Chinary Ung, Jaime León, Jacques Ibert, David Clark and Beau Kenyon will be performed.

Other World of Music spring concerts include the cello quartet Holes in the Floor at 8 p.m. Friday, April 5, MCC Concert Hall, Bedford campus; “Chamber Music for Oboe, Flute, Cello and Piano,” at 8 p.m. Friday, April 26, MCC Concert Hall, in Bedford, and at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 28, in the Academic Arts Center Recital Hall on the Lowell campus; an MCC Student Recital, at 12:30 p.m. Monday, May 6, MCC Concert Hall, Bedford; and “Music for Classical Guitars and Violin,” at 8 p.m. Friday, May 10, in the MCC Concert Hall in Bedford.
