MCC Professional Development Courses Advance Regional Employers

MCC's Corporate Education and Training division is currently offering a series of trainings to Analog Devices Inc

A leader of workforce training, Middlesex Community College partners with regional employers to offer professional development for their employees. MCC’s Corporate Education and Training division is currently offering a series of trainings to Analog Devices Inc. (ADI), a semiconductor manufacturing company in Wilmington.

“We are thrilled to work with ADI to meet their company’s needs and equip their employees with knowledge and skills that will guide them to long-term success,” said Lisa Tuzzolo, MCC’s Senior Director of Corporate Education and Training. “Designing these trainings is truly a collaborative process that involves MCC, the partner company, and our expert instructors. This ensures high-quality and relevant trainings that will strengthen industries and advance careers.”

ADI reached out to Middlesex after receiving a Workforce Training Fund Grant, according to Tuzzolo. While a majority of the courses were offered online, some were also held on-site at ADI. Courses included Leadership Skills Development, Generational Diversity, Communicating in a Team Environment, Management and Supervisory Skills, Leader as a Team Builder, Change Management, and Improving Employee Relations and Understanding Human Behavior.

Shubhankar Yarnal, Enterprise Excellence Operations Manager at ADI, believes MCC and the instructors provided flexibility in developing both the schedule and the content for the courses.

“The training programs offered by Middlesex Community College were selected to support ADI’s workforce development in leadership, systematic problem-solving, diversity, financial acumen and management skills,” Yarnal said. “The programs are helping employees develop skills to respond better to dynamic and emerging challenges in the workplace.”

Yarnal also appreciated the knowledge and expertise MCC’s instructors brought to the course. In the Improving Employee Relations & Understanding Human Behavior training, Yarnal said Virginia Maglio provided guidance on communicating effectively as part of a team. An instructor for several of ADI’s courses, Yarnal said Jeffrey Davis helped give insight into navigating the different stages of change management.

“ADI is undertaking an effort to upskill its employees as they prepare for the post-pandemic work environment,” Davis said. “They have prioritized collaboration, communication and relationship-building through trust and mutual respect. The turmoil and uncertainty of the pandemic created a huge disconnect between employees, and ADI is working hard to create a team attitude among leaders as they will need each other's support to lead effectively in these times.”

For Middlesex and ADI, the partnership has been a success, leading to positive results.

“MCC programs offer flexibility, great instructor support, and set high-quality standards,” Yarnal said. “ADI employees have benefitted from access to the different programs conducted and shared a positive response on the content of the programs and the instructors’ ability to share the knowledge and engage with the training participants.”
