ELI offers a variety of noncredit courses focusing on developing basic English and other skills essential to functioning in American society – as well as helping students continue their education.

MCC’s fall ELI program runs Sept. 9 through Dec. 20. Courses are designed to serve students who are newcomers to the United States or who need to develop basic English skills. Topics such as technology, life skills and social conventions are covered.

ELI classes meet for approximately three hours – during the day or evening – on the Lowell campus. All ELI courses are offered at a reduced rate, and students may enter the program in the fall, spring or summer semesters. Admission is open to all and does not require an MCC admission application.

Support services are available to all ELI students, including an English Language Learner Tutoring Lab, and a technology-enhanced Language Lab. Students also have access to computers, library services, and student services, such as career counseling and academic advising.
