MCC’s Mini-mester II Offers Second Chance to Register for Spring
MCC's Mini-mester II provides a second chance to take classes – starting Monday, March 27

Middlesex Community College makes going back to school more convenient for students. Flexible course formats – including accelerated sessions – allow students to more easily fit education into their schedules on their own terms. Although the Spring semester has begun, MCC’s Mini-mester II provides a second chance to take classes – starting Monday, March 27!
“Mini-mesters provide an opportunity for students to customize their learning experience,” said Evelin Ovalles, MCC’s Coordinator of Transfer Credit & Degree Completion. “A popular and convenient option, the accelerated courses are a way for students to earn credits quickly, explore subjects, and complete more classes over the course of a semester. By taking Mini-mester classes this Spring, students will get ahead of their goals for the Summer and Fall.”
Students can choose to register for Mini-mester II whether they are already taking classes as part of the Spring semester or if they want to start. Course options include a variety of general education subjects, such as humanities, the arts, business, social science, and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).

Over the course of eight weeks, Mini-mesters offer the same content, academic standards, and number of instructional hours as courses scheduled during the traditional 15-week semester. Classes may be offered on-campus, online, hybrid or hyflex.
Students enrolled in Mini-mester II classes can also qualify for financial aid. Middlesex encourages students to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to find out their eligibility.

“Mini-mesters combat two of the biggest barriers students face in getting an education – time and money,” Ovalles said. “This affordable and efficient option helps students get on their paths to their transfer institution or into the workforce faster.”
