MCC’s Mini-mesters Help Students Fit Education into Their Schedul
MCC's Mini-mester II – starting on Monday, November 1 – features a variety of online options

“Having the option to choose between online, on campus or a mix of both course formats makes an education from Middlesex Community College even more accessible,” said Scott O’Neil, MCC’s Dean of Enrollment. “At MCC, students can more easily fit education into their schedules and learn in ways that work best for them.”
Middlesex continues to offer on campus classes and lab opportunities for students, but the college also remains a leader of award-winning online learning. In addition to on campus classes, MCC’s Mini-mester II – starting on Monday, November 1 – features a variety of online options.
“There were many flexible options to take the courses I needed to – online, hybrid, etc.,” said Hannah Guillen, a 2021 MCC graduate who is now studying at UMass Lowell. “They allowed me to work while still being a full-time student and complete my degree.”

With over 20 years of experience teaching online, MCC’s courses use tools, activities and opportunities to keep the content interactive and engaging for students. Throughout the past two decades, faculty and staff have developed – and continue to develop – courses that are specially designed to run online. These immersive online courses come with resources and student support services that students can continue to access online, including tutoring and advising.
In online with class meeting times classes, students must be online for their scheduled meeting days and times. For online classes with no meeting times, students can complete lectures, lessons and exercises online on their own time.

In accelerated Mini-mester courses, students learn the same content, maintain the same academic standards, and have the same number of class instructional hours as courses scheduled during the traditional 15-week semester. For the Fall 2021 Mini-mester II semester, students can choose between on campus, online or a combination of both for their schedules.
Please note that Middlesex requires all students to be vaccinated in order to come to campus, as of January 2022. Students who are unvaccinated can still choose to take online classes and access online resources and student support services.
With MCC’s Mini-mesters, students earn transferable college credit, gain important professional development skills, and get on track to reach their goals. For more information and to register for classes, visit www.middlesex.mass.edu/registration/ or call 1-800-818-3434.
