As the holiday season approaches, now is the perfect time to get organized and register for classes at Middlesex Community College. With four opportunities to start or continue an education, MCC’s Spring 2025 semester begins as early as Thursday, January 2, 2025 with the accelerated Wintersession.

“At Middlesex, we support students who are busy with work and personal responsibilities on top of their coursework,” said Scott O’Neil, MCC’s Dean of Enrollment Services. “To help, we offer flexible and accessible options to make going to school easier for them. This includes on-campus, online and hybrid course formats, as well as accelerated sessions, such as MCC’s Wintersession at the beginning of January.”

During Wintersession, students can take classes while most other schools are on break. In addition to the three-week session, MCC’s traditional 15-week semester and eight-week Mini-mester I start on Tuesday, January 21. Students can also register for an additional eight-week Mini-mester II that begins Monday, March 24.

Held twice in both the Fall and Spring semesters, Mini-mesters allow students to start taking classes on their own terms. The shorter sessions are also an excellent way for students to finish more classes in less amount of time, helping them transfer or enter the workforce faster.

For both the traditional and accelerated semesters, a selection of on-campus, online, hybrid and hyflex classes offer students the choice of which modality works best for them. Students can pick and choose course formats based on availability. For each format, they are able to connect with professors, classmates and campus resources.

MCC offers 80+ programs to choose from, as well as access to award-winning student support services. Students can take advantage of tutoring, the Libraries, and academic, career and financial advising.

No matter a student’s age or income, community college is now free in Massachusetts! The MassEducate and MassReconnect programs allow at Massachusetts residents who have not yet earned a bachelor’s degree to attend MCC for free.

“Whether you are a new or returning student to MCC, you can choose options that best fit into your schedule,” O’Neil said. “Get ahead and register early for MCC’s Spring 2025 semester!”
