In an effort to provide improved online tutoring services for students, Middlesex Community College has become a coordinating institution in the Northeast eTutoring Consortium.

A group of colleges and universities committed to providing high-quality online tutoring for both online and face-to-face students, the Northeast eTutoring Consortium offers immediate access to online tutoring across many subject areas – including an Online Writing Lab.

“Having access to Northeast eTutoring is a great resource for Middlesex students and adds to our already robust academic-support services,” said Noreen McGinness Olson, Director of MCC’s Academic Centers for Enrichment.

“Joining the consortium provides enormous value stemming from its inter-institutional collaboration. And the variety of subjects and tutors that are available by pooling resources from participating schools is hugely superior to whatever any individual institution may provide,” Olson said.

The Northeast eTutoring Consortium uses a platform that allows tutors to work with students synchronously and asynchronously. It facilitates answering questions in real time, or replying to questions and essay submissions students have posted for review and comment.
