Middlesex CC Offers Two Cybersecurity Certificate Programs

Register now for Entry-Level IT Cybersecurity Certificate, or Advanced IT Cybersecurity Certificate – spring classes start Tuesday, Jan, 22.

Registration is now open for Middlesex Community College’s two Cybersecurity certificate programs: an Entry-Level IT Cybersecurity Certificate and an Advanced IT Cybersecurity Certificate. Spring classes begin Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019, and financial aid may be available for those who qualify.

The FBI predicts cybersecurity will become the No. 1 threat against the United States. And the U.S. Department of Labor projects computer security specialists’ employment to grow by 22 percent through 2020, a faster-than-average outlook.

MCC’s Entry-Level Cybersecurity Certificate prepares students to either enroll in the IT Cybersecurity Advanced Certificate program or Liberal Studies IT Cybersecurity Transfer degree program. It also prepares students for employment in a variety of entry-level network administration positions.

The Advanced Cybersecurity Certificate program is designed for students who have already worked a minimum of one year in the network-administration field. This program allows students to obtain the cybersecurity skills now required for a variety of positions in network-security administration.

Problem-solving and analytical thinking are emphasized throughout these certificate programs, with a hands-on approach to learning. Classes are held in MCC’s state-of-the-art Cybersecurity Lab on the Lowell campus.

MCC’s Cybersecurity certificate programs conform to the National Initiative for Cyber Security Education (NICE) framework for academic programs, developed jointly by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
