Middlesex CC Theatre Department to Stage ‘The Music Man'

The Middlesex Community College Theatre Department will stage Meredith Willson’s popular musical, “The Music Man,” for seven performances April 10-14, in the college’s newly renovated Donahue Family Academic Arts Center Theatre, 240 Central St., on the Lowell campus.

Curtain times for “The Music Man” are 7 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, April 10, 11 and 12; and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 13 and 14.

General admission tickets are $18; $12 for MCC faculty and staff; and $10 for students with ID. Tickets can be purchased online by visiting the Performing Arts website at:

Willson's six-time, Tony Award-winning musical comedy has been entertaining audiences since 1957. “The Music Man” follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a marching band – despite the fact that he doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef.

In addition to current Middlesex students, this production will also feature several Lowell High School students, young participants from MCC’s College for Kids summer theatre program, and a few Theatre Department alumni.
