Middlesex Community College Awards Foundation Scholarships
The MCC Foundation recently awarded more than $86,000 in scholarships to 72 deserving Middlesex students for the 2014-2015 academic year.

The Middlesex Community College Foundation recently awarded more than $86,000 in scholarships to 72 deserving Middlesex students for the 2014-2015 academic year.
The 94 scholarships range from $500 to $2,500 and are funded by a variety of sources, including memorial donations, local businesses, private foundations and private donors.
“At Middlesex, we recognize the accomplishments of our students, and the strong and generous commitment from our donors who provide financial assistance to our students as they work so hard to achieve their dreams of higher education and meaningful careers,” said Dennis Malvers, Dean of College Advancement.

Three new scholarships were established and awarded this year; The Audrey A. Cogliano Memorial Scholarship, the Paul Sheehy Memorial Scholarship, and the Tom McKay Memorial Scholarship.
Named in memory of Audrey Cogliano, wife of MCC Foundation Board Member John Cogliano, the Audrey A. Cogliano Memorial Scholarship honors a student who has demonstrated a commitment to people in need and community service.

The Paul Sheehy Memorial Scholarship is presented to a student who demonstrates a commitment and service to his/her community. Named in memory of the late Paul Sheehy, who served as Lowell City Manager and Massachusetts State Senator.
The Tom McKay Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Tom McKay, a member of the MCC Foundation Board and an active leader in the Lowell community. This scholarship honors a student who demonstrates civic commitment and leadership.
