Middlesex Community College Named a Military Friendly School
Thanks to an array of special veterans services, MCC has been designated a Silver-Level Military Friendly School by Victory Media

Thanks to Middlesex Community College’s Veterans Resource Centers, Veterans Advisory Board, and other special veterans services, the college has been designated a Silver-Level Military Friendly School by Victory Media.
The 2018 list of Military Friendly Schools honors the top colleges, universities and trade schools in the country. They are recognized for doing the most to embrace America’s military service members, veterans and spouses as students and ensure their success – on campus in the classroom, and after graduation.
“This Silver Award recognizes the important work Middlesex does to create a welcoming environment for our veterans,” said Pam Flaherty, Dean of Students. “We provide educational opportunities, as well as numerous veterans resources, to help make the transition from military to civilian life easier.”

Veterans at MCC have become more engaged on campus through the Veterans Resource Centers in Bedford and Lowell, said Flaherty. And students are helping their peers through peer-mentoring programs and a variety of Veterans Club activities.
MCC has also received grant funding to provide Green Zone training to a wide range of faculty and staff. Green Zones help create a highly-visible network of college employees who better understand the unique needs of active military veterans and their family members, Flaherty added.
