Middlesex Community College’s Community Education and Career Training program is offering a variety of personal enrichment courses. These noncredit courses can help individuals in all stages of life and career learn new skills. Courses begin Oct. 23 and include:
Trick or Treat with Fondant (PER 675 33 14860) – In this course, students will learn how to make a Halloween-themed cake. Students will learn the basic techniques of working with fondant to create realistic-looking cakes. A supply fee of $20 will cover all supplies for the class.
Knitting (PER 610 30 14838) – In this six-week course, students will learn the basics of knitting, including reading a pattern, casting on and binding off, stitching techniques, purling and decreasing stitches. Special topics will also be addressed in each session, including using acrylic vs. wool yarn, needle sizes and types, terminology and caring for your projects. Each student will knit three projects – coasters and a scarf and hat.

Intro to Home Staging & Design (PER 683 33 1847) – This combined course will discuss the differences between home staging and interior redesign. This course offers insight to create a model-home look for selling in today’s real estate market or for sprucing up a home with accessories and furnishings.
