Middlesex Hosts Exhibit of ‘Autostitched Photographs’ by Paul Light

Middlesex Community College will host “Paul Light: Autostitched Photographs,” an exhibit of manipulated photographs by Arlington photographer Paul Light, on view through Friday, April 4, in Henderson Hall Gallery on MCC's Bedford campus, 591 Springs Road. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Light has taught photography at Middlesex for 30 years. Perspective and texture play a central role in all of his work (http://www.lightwavephoto.com).

For this “Autostitched” series, which Light describes as an extension of his work with panoramic photography, he has used a variety of cameras, as well an iPhone and iPad. Each photograph is composed of several smaller photographs electronically pieced together using an algorithm created by Cloudburst Research and offered in the apps Autostitch and Calico.
