No Pot Shops In Bedford, Town Meeting Rules
A special Town Meeting voted Monday in favor of prohibiting recreational marijuana facilities.

BEDFORD, MA – The Bedford special Town Meeting voted against recreational marijuana centers Monday. Residents approved Article 4 and Article 5, which allows the town to implement a zoning and general bylaw prohibiting non-medical marijuana shops in Bedford. The zoning bylaw passed 487-146 and the general bylaw passed in all rooms, according to the town of Bedford.
According to the Bedford Minuteman, the town was permitted to vote on marijuana prohibition under policy created by the state Cannabis Control Commission, which was approved under Question 4 during the 2016 election. The commission allows communities that voted against Question 4 to vote on prohibiting recreational marijuana facilities in their towns.
Bedford voted against Question 4 last November.
