Police: An Abandoned Audi and a Cold Son

Tuesday, Oct. 9

12:27 a.m.- The Bedford Police Department received a call from the Carlisle Police Department reporting an unoccupied vehicle parked on the side of the road just before the Concord River Bridge. Responding officers confirmed the vehicle was unoccupied, but parked and secure on the side of the road, out of the way of traffic.

8:25 a.m.- Police received a call reporting downed wires on Wagon Wheel Road at Old Billerica Road. 

12:19 p.m.- Police received a call reporting an unoccupied Audi with New Hampshire plates parked on Carlisle Road near the Concord River Bridge. The caller reported the vehicle has been parked there for two days. Responding officers reported there was no one near the vehicle, which was locked. Police could not locate a phone number for the owner of the vehicle.

4:16 p.m.- A caller reported a disabled motor vehicle near exit 26 on Route 3 North. BPD notified the State Police, who confirmed they had an officer responding. BPD also sent an officer to the area, but the vehicle was not located upon his arrival.

9:11 p.m.- Police received a call reporting a vehicle parked in the parking lot of Page Field at 47 Loomis Street. The responding officer spoke with the owner of the vehicle, who stated he was in town to use the bike trail. The officer notified the individual he could not park his car at that location.

Wednesday, Oct. 10

2:59 a.m.- A woman came into the station to ask the police to check on her son, who was walking back into town from Concord. She was concerned because it was cold outside. Officers checked the area, but reported no one was around.

9:26 a.m.- A contractor working at 100 Crosby Drive reported a male attempted to steal equipment his crew was using and drive away. The contractor confronted the individual who dropped the equipment and fled the area.

11:39 a.m.- Police assisted with a one car accident at Middlesex Community College. There were no injuries as a result of the crash, although there was damage to the rim of one of the tires on the car. The responding officer assisted to driver in moving the vehicle away from the guard rail it collided with.

3:52 p.m.- A caller reported a large pothole in the area of 99 Page Road that had filled with water and was creating a hazard for motorists. An officer responded, and reported to the Department of Public Works that there were two large holes in the area that needed to be filled.

5:20 p.m.- A caller reported they had been locked out of their car at Shawsheen Cemetary. The responding officer reported the owner of the vehicle had contacted Riggio Auto Repair, who was unable to unlock the vehicle.
