Police: Calls from Oklahoma and an Abandoned Vehicle
The following information was provided by the Bedford Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Oct. 12
4:14 a.m.- Police recieved a call from Wildwood Drive reporting a fire alarm sounding without smoke or fire showing. Responding officers determined the alarm was due to a faulty smoke detector. They helped the homeowner with replacing the detector.

5:40 a.m.- A caller from Avalon Drive reported a problem with a furnace. Police responded, and confirmed there was no hazard with the building's furnace. Responding officers advised the individual to follow up with building maitenance.
9:28 a.m.- Police received a call from a resident of Hemlock Lane reporting a gold colored sedan had hit their mailbox and drove away.

11:11 a.m.- Police received a call from the Great Road Shopping Center reporting a vehicle had been left in the parking lot for over a month. The responding officer spoke with the reporting person, who said they would talk to the property owner about having the vehicle towed.
4:21 p.m.- Police received a call reporting an individual outside 457 Old Billerica Road attempting to gain access to the garage. Officers responded and spoke with two individuals who reported they were delivering a work order for that property.
5:41 p.m.- A caller reported a vehicle parked in the fire lane in front of 12 Dunster Road.
5:59 p.m.- Police received a call from an Oklahoma residence reporting repeated calls to their number from a 781 area code from an individual who kept saying they were looking for their mother, and that they did not know where they were located. Dispatch looked up the phone number and determined it was an Arlington number. Upon contacting the Arlington Police Department and the phone company, neither had a record of the number. The state police determined the number was from a prepaid phone and was untraceable.
7:51 p.m.- A resident of Hancock Street reported a suspicous man walking around outside their home. The responding officer spoke with the man, who reported he was trying to find a place to rest. Officers notified the Veterans Administration Police.
8:25 p.m.- A caller reported a vehicle being operated erratically in the area of Old Billerica Road at El-Will Farm Road. Officers searched the area but could not locate the vehicle.
9:18 p.m.- Police received a call from a resident of Liberty Road reporting cars parked on both sides of the street, blocking traffic. The responding officer spoke with the homeowner who reported he was having a party and that his guests would be leaving shortly.
