Police Log: House Parties, Unruly Grandsons and Rogue Chickens

The following information was provided by the Bedford Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Sunday, Sept. 16

12:32 a.m.- An anonymous caller reported a loud party on Hume Road. Upon arrival, officers noticed a male running from the house in question into the woods. Officers found the man at a Citizens Bank on Bedford Street in Burlington. He was given a ride home by a friend who agreed to take custody of him for the night.

9:07 a.m.- A resident of Taylor Pond Road reported that while he was walking his dog, a man approached him, made some comments about the president and M.I.T. and then pulled a knife from his pocket.

4:58 p.m.- Police responded to a noise complaint on Eliot Road. Officers found two people, one riding an ATV and the other a mini-bike in the middle of Eliot Road. Officers advised them not to ride their vehicles in the middle of the street.

Monday, Sept. 17

6:53 a.m.- Police responded to a call of a man attempting to break into a vehicle in front of Stop and Shop. Police responded to the call and confirmed the man was the owner of the vehicle, having locked his keys in the car.

7:57 a.m.- A resident of North Road reported she believed she may have the left the stove on upon leaving her home and that food might be burning. Her mother was at home and she was 20 minutes away. Officers responded and confirmed that everything was fine at the caller's home.

12:12 p.m.- Bedford Police Department recieved a call from the Veterans Affairs Police reporting a group of homeless veterans possibly living in an abandoned house on Mickleson Avenue. Officers were dispatched, but did not find the group.

7:32- A resident of Concord Road reported her grandson was banging on the windows of her house and that she did not want him near her house. Responding officers spoke to both parties and resolved the situation.

Tuesday, Sept. 18

12:20 a.m.- The Burlington Police Department reported an armed robbery at the Mobile Gas Station at 173 Bedford Street and asked Bedford Police for assistance. Upon a search of the area, the suspect could not be located. 

1:37 p.m.- Police received a call from a resident of Carlisle Road reporting a downed tree on their property. Officers responded along with the Bedford Fire Department to find a large tree across the roof of the house in question. The Fire Department shut off the power to the house.

2:38 p.m.- Police received a call reporting several chickens in the road near the intersection of the Great Road and Roberts Drive. The BPD Animal Control Officer was dispatched, and reported the chickens were gone by the time he arrived on the scene.
